I've gotten used to being casual. Jeans, a t-shirt - little or no makeup, cute socks. Periodically I do a spruce job, but for the most part I'm pretty.....sloppy.*
So tonight it was with horror I faced my closet and began trying to find an...(sharp intake of breath) outfit.
You see, I start a part-time job tomorrow.
And I have to look good, as I'll be meeting the public and so on.
I already know the kids and I will be leaving early tomorrow, as I haven't a pair of intact pantyhose in the house - thank goodness the grocery opens early - and now I'm flailing around, wondering where in the heck my slip went.
This weekend? I'm buying some nice khaki workpants. This skirt thing is for the birds.
*Yes, S, I did toss the jogging pants. Promise!

Whole lot of nothing going on
Last week, I got covid. For the third time, and this one was unpleasant in ways that I don't really want to talk about. (Life tip: NO ...

Is there an Old Navy near you? They have some GREAT work pants (MACHINE WASHABLE!) on SALE. I would link to it, but the iBook hates all Gap Inc web sites. I don't know why.
Hooray for you!
Good luck with the new job. And careful! putting on the new tights (in the car on the way to work?). You don't want to ladder them.
Good luck out there!
I like separates from Eileen Fisher for this very reason. One season mixes and matches eternally. The fabrics are different, but the tones and hues all work well together, no matter silk, wool, cotton or jersey. They are expensive, but you will wear them for 15 years, I kid you not. I've got some of her stuff that is older than that.
Panty hose? AND a slip??? You, my dear, are a glutton for punishment. Get thee some nice trousers. I second the Old Navy recommendation - they have plus sizes, too.
Good luck, Jess.
Congrats on the part time job! I hope you enjoy it!
Good luck with the new job. I hope it goes ok.
Shalln't bother giving you shop ideas as I suspect you may not have the same shops as we do over here.
A slip (petticoat?) and tights! Argh my worse nightmare
I'm with everyone else. Pantyhose... ack! So very very sorry.
BUT! so very happy for you with the job thing. Have fun! Don't steal anything! (My mom said that to me as I was leaving for a temp job years ago. I have no idea why she thought I would, so now we bust her on it every chance we get and it has become one of the things my husband says to me as I leave to go to a new job... ) :)
What size are you? I have a closet full of dress clothes and I wear jeans and sweat shirts to work. With the new house I have very limited closet space and would love to ship you some of my dang near brand new stuff. Email me and let me know.
