sometimes I wonder

I was at the manse today, struggling with the rasen-fracken* computer (which is HALLELUJAH! going in to the computer guy TO-DAY!) and took a break to make myself a cup of tea and have a stroll around.
Okay, I just wanted to remove my foot from the vicinity of the screen for awhile. Whatever.

I was standing at the window, watching the rain fall down, and noticed that the caretaker for the place had put white rocks all along the edge of the sidewalk. What a good idea! I thought to myself. Sometimes I work here late at night, and part of the sidewalk is in shadow, and I'm always doing the shuffle-forward-feel-with-foot dance so I don't walk off the last step down to the street.

He'd placed reflectors there earlier, but some kids had absconded with those on Halloween. (And what is the matter with these kids? Stealing from the church? Does no one believe in hell anymore?) At least now I'd be able to see....

It was about that point I realized the white rocks were actually lumps of melting snow.

Sometimes I'm amazed they let me parent.

I know that feeling. I remember feeling too stupid to parent when Leah told me her tooth was wiggly and I (who has always been consumed with keeping her teeth healthy) panicked, wondering what terrible dental disease could cause perfectly healthy teeth to get loose in a six-year-old..... Oh. Right. That's supposed to happen.

I think it's cuz we made such smart kids that they have stolen some or atleast half of our brain cells! Cuz I know I can walk around looking for a sippy cup for 45 minutes turning over EVERYTHING then realize that it is in Boogie's hand while he follows me around... *sigh* Such is mommyhood I guess!

I've always said that with each pregnancy they stole more of my brain cells.

BTW, that was funny. lol

Thanks for the laugh!
My snow left the day after it came, so no white rocks for me.
Barring the ones in my haid, of course.

You have snow? We had a few flakes but it may have been toxic ashes or something... Anyhoo, kids have no respect - hell doesn't scare 'em anymore.

And I ask myself hourly who let me be a mom.

(if you need a meme, I tagged you for an oldy but goody - don't feel obligated)
