chocolate is gooooood therapy

One Person Five Minute Chocolate Cake

  • 1 Coffee Mug
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3-4 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) (or a mini candy bar, or a spoonful of peanut butter)
  • Small splash of vanilla

Instructions:

  • Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
  • Pour in the egg, milk and oil and mix well.
  • Add the chocolate chips or other goodies (if using) and vanilla, and mix again.
  • Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
  • Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
  • EAT!
This can serve two if you want to share, but sharing? Is...sometimes highly overrated.

That is too good to be true - I have a friend obsessed with 5 minute bread - I'm sending her here immediately.

AAiiieeeee! Go immediately to Thimbleanna at http://thimbleanna.com/?p=245. You are in imminent danger of accepting as "yummy!" something that tastes like the stuff they make bicycle tires from! If you're still not convinced you should cease and desist making chocolate cake in the microwave, go read my post on the subject at http://mollybawnchronicles.blogspot.com/2008/08/just-say-no.html. There is no time to lose. Do it now!

Molly - What wattage is your microwave? Mine came out melty and slightly soft - sort of like a pudding-cake (and was awesome with ice cream) and not rubbery at all.

I have had rubber stuff out of the microwave, though, and I love the description of bicycle tires!
