she wets, she cries, she has chewmarks...

October's over, and we are awash...in Christmas music.

I have a theory - see, Thanksgiving 'round here? Is in early October. So Canadians gorge on turkey and pumpkin pie (and wow, I want to try this one) and then a few weeks later there's Halloween...and then there's NOTHING for two months.

So the day after Halloween (or as soon as the candy runs out) the mind turns to Christmas....

See? The American system of having Thanksgiving in November breaks up the waiting.
Anyhoo, the Christmas ads have started on the radio, the Wish Books come out any day now, and R is busy pointing to EVERYTHING and screeching 'I want THAT for Christmas!'

No. N-O. Hell to the no.

Yeah, I'm the hard-ass around here who won't let Rosey have that. (HOW on EARTH did she end up with such MEAN PARENTS, she'd like to know??)

Well, it's simple, kid. You leave any and all plastic doo-dads around on the floor....and then one of two things happen - either I step on them or the dog eats them.

And an itty bitty toilet? Looks like a hell of a chew toy.

Not to mention the trauma of R espying Jasper noshing on her doll as the air rings with cries of 'I need to go weeeeeee!'

Since I'm the mom who caved on the American Girl dolls, I have no room to talk.

I talked my Middle Girl out of putting that on her Christmas list for two straight years!

Oh, and BTW? The stores here are already playing Christmas music and filled with Christmas decorations.

awww....every girl should have a baby that wets.

i had a "betsy wetsy" when i was little. i'm 41 and i still remember that doll being one of my favs.

you should think it over if that's really what she's askin' for. and if it gets chewed up then she'll have learned a valuable lesson...right?

I remember when my sister had Baby Alive. No toilet included...just a hole down there that the water POURED out of. Snirk.

Yeah, it's all about Christmas down here in the States right now too, like Barbra said. Thanksgiving gets no respect, yo. Just TRY finding anything Thanksgiving-related in the stores down here right now. JUST TRY.

Oh, and Baby Alive freaks me right out. Remember the commercials from when we were kids? *shudder*

Aw, poor deprived child.

We hold out 'til American Thanksgiving even though we're in Canada now. It's not easy for me but it makes the reward all the sweeter.

Rae so wants Baby Alive. I am torn between the practical (bitty pieces being stepped on/lost) and memories of how I reeeeeeealy wanted an Easy Bake Oven when I was little and never got one and have thought about it for years.

Yes, a November Thanksgiving breaks up Halloween and Christmas, but many stores here are already decked out for Decemeber. As if Thanksgiving is just an afterthought.

I had one of these, but the 70's version looked very different (not better, mind you).

Blech! That would have to be one of the ugliest dolls I have ever seen! I am a doll freak, so it must be awful for me to dislike it!
Perhaps it would be good if the dog ate it?? just a thought.

Chew toy, yeah. But another Very Good Reason for not buying your Rosey that toilet toy is that it is Bloody 'Orrible. Stay classy Jess.
