i consider myself a kind person

but then why does my son look so sad? So sad....and horrified? So unhappy?

I mean, I didn't yell at him, or take away his DS, or make him go have his shower first (the horrors of -gulp- cleanliness!) or announce that he needs to play ponies with his sister, or anything nasty like that. Like I said, I consider myself a kind person.

A good
parent, you know? A good parent.

And one that believes in the finishing of brussels sprouts.

Behold the unhappy mug.

Yes! Your page loaded for me!

That picture is just the saddest thing I have ever seen.

If the lowly Brussels sprout is what brought it on, I can more than empathize with him. I HATE those things!

Mine hate it when I make homemade (from scratch) mac 'n' cheese. In fact, one actually vomited one bite.

Wasn't those things banned by the Geneva Convention? I have a few suggestions.......
1. Stop torturing your son with brusssel sprouts.
2. Replace it with something more fun and yet also healthy like "broccoli". The beauty of broccoli is that you can pretend it is a miniature tree or an alien which encourages their being hungrily devoured.
3. try serving brussel sprouts creatively as in peanut butter and brussel sprouts sandwiches or brussel sprouts chunky monkey ice cream.

Good luck.

My poor boy, I as well did not like the little cabbages at his age, I can relate.

Eating brussel sprouts is like biting into farts.

You meanie! I personally love them, but I understand there is something about them that horrifies children.

Brussel sprouts caused THAT? Has children's services intervened yet?

I'm warning you: when he's 29 (and counting, in my experience...) he'll remind you of this occasion. And that you took a photo of it.

He'll forget some of the lovely and possibly expensive experiences you gave him. But he'll remember the sprouts.

I love sprouts, myself. Don't waste them on him. Give them to me.
