Please, please, go here, read Tuesday's story, and leave a message of love and hope for this traumatized, heartbroken family. If we in the blogging world could only take away their pain for an instant...
Karissa's mother pled guilty to second-degree manslaughter this morning. Google if you want the details - I haven't the stomach to report on it.
And I watch my achy, feverish daughter sleep this morning, clutching her tattered blankie, her eyelashes fluttering down, down as she fights to stay awake, and wonder about the world she's growing up in.

Thanks, all of you.

there are days when i wonder why i have a child...what is this world that she will inherit...?
I don't even know what to say. :( Thank you for passing along the link about Tuesday. I used to have her site bookmarked and must've lost track of her somewhere along the lines. As soon as I clicked through, my heart sank as I realized who it was and that I'd somehow missed everything that has been going on in her world. :(
Tuesday's story is so very sad...
ah, lord, hug 'em close while we can.
oh man.
on both counts.
Oh you know, I wonder that too. Did our parents wonder about this world as we were growing up? I know the threat of nuclear war was greater (or so they tell me) but did they ever think about all the other horrors...like this one?
Sometimes I can't bear it.
