'Wunging conteen doephleng-ay!'The Boy shouted after Rosey's fleeing back, clutching his dinky cars to his chest. R burst into tears and ran past me. I could hear him muttering to himself. 'Cawliflingkafllaaa medoesy lebluebing.'
I marched out into the livingroom. The jig was up.
'Cass, QUIT PICKING ON YOUR SISTER!
And for the LAST time,
YOU DON'T SPEAK FRENCH!'
I'm not sure if it's the French-cartoon channel I sometimes see him squinting at or what, but C has decided he speaks French. Fluent French.
This would be great...except his mother only speaks English.
(And knows enough French to know making swirly faces with your lips does NOT equal the French language.)

HA! This is so much fun and boy does it bring back memories. Maybe he should call me. I've had some experience speaking "French". I was about 10 and moved to Southern Ontario. No one down there knew any better.
OMG. SO funny!
I love that he's doing gobbledegook. Mine tries on a French accent over English words which is also pretty entertaining - not quite je suis un rockstar, but all the zees and zats are amusing me.
Hehehe, parle vu Francias? Too cute!
Ha, ha! The Boy is constantly picking out French books from the library. Luckily, I do speak French, but he doesn't. I don't know what his fascination is...or where it came from. We don't speak it a home.
Mine sometimes speak with different accents, but haven't actually attempted an entire foreign language yet.
LOL that is too cute
Thanks for the smile. Fortunately I'm not a francophile. I took three semesters in college.
But it does help with the prononciation, non?
That is too funny. I love that he thinks he speaks French. It kind of reminds me of a Friends episode where Phoebe was trying to teach Joey French for an audition.
She'd say "Je m'appelle Claude." and Joey would repeat "jah blah blah Claude." My husband thinks this is one of the funniest scenes of Friends and says it to me ALL THE TIME.
Hilarious! I can remember pretending to be an Aussie when we went to Christchurch. We actually sounded quite convincing!
