Cass has fallen in love with action figures.
Last year it was Bionicles and Transformers - close, but not quite: Funky robots aren't little men.
I kind of thought he was going to skip that stage all together - he's been heavy into the science experiments and soldier/soccer/running everywhere, but it began and now he's heavy into it.
I was sort of excited - after all, I was the (cool) one who sat and watched the Star Wars trilogy with him - it would be nice to be in the know about one of his obsessions! Piece of cake.
WRONG. Wrong wrong wrong.
See, times have changed. It's a whole new galaxy out there.
Now Star Wars is all about the Clone Wars. (It's an animated thing that stars 90% new characters and situations.
Whimper. I never thought I'd miss Vader.

I haven't seen any of the Star War prequels. I wouldn't even know the new action figures. ;-)
I hate it that they even call that awful cartoon Star Wars!
I don't even understand the plot lines of the newer Star Wars movies...
don't worry - the clone wars don't have the same staying power.
vader, rise...
If he makes the light sabre noise whilst playing with the Clone Wars figurines, would that make it allright?
I sat through an episode of clone wars with my boys this weekend. I found it kinda boring but they liked it. I will be sure they know all about the originals (they have only watched the original Star Wars so far).
Even the big kids are into that thing, but they get all confused about the characters in our generation's Star Wars movies. When I was explaining archetypes I had a PPT show, and when Luke Skywalker's image came on the screen for the "inexperienced youth" one of the kids asked, "Is that Anakin?"
sigh
i suspect the job of children is to continually point out to us how outdated we are.
mine are still young enough that i console myself with the naive belief i'm going to convince them that all things vintage are cool. i think i have a rude awakening ahead.
here's hoping he eventually comes round to Vader...
I.can't.keep.up!
