dregs

I remember the Bitacle debacle. So. Much. Fun.

I think at least half of Blogland put copyrights on their work after that.

I was fooling around on technorati and noticed a blog I'd never heard of linking to mine. I found this.
Hmm. No credit given. My hackles began to rise. I typed a (reasonably nice) request to have them CEASE AND DESIST and GIMME CREDIT, DAMNIT, which went ignored until this afternoon, when the site went under for a few hours then re-appeared with tags (although mine is still not correct) and jiminy gee, my letter of complaint is GONE.

I read a few more entries and the whole blog doesn't make any sense, really. Take a look, if you want a laugh.

Whoa. It does not make any sense. Seems to be one of those sites where people get paid for traffic, so they do everything they possibly can to get it. A person does not have to get the content read to get the money, just as long as the site is visited.

Completely odd though.

Good for you for jumping up and down. I love that apparently "people have been asking them to blog more"... well when the blogging is of that standard I can see why.

How is scamming tidbits from other peoples blogs them digging/searching/checking? I hate people who have now imagination and just swipe other peoples words.

I am gonna send them "I hope your socks catch on fire" thoughts today =)

Ugh, those things are SUCH a pain! I get one of those things picking up my content every week or so, sometimes more! They actually sell software packages that let you set up a splog (spam blog) like this to do automated searches for keywords using google and create a fake blog that you can then use for ad revenue. It's disgusting!

At least they linked back to your original content. They don't always do that.

If you really want to take them on, you can do a "whois" search (one of many who offer this tool: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp) and get the contact info of the person who registered the website and send them a 'cease and desist' note. I've shut down at least two splogs this way, and boy does it feel good!
