o canada

Americans have had - what- a YEAR of ads, of stumpings and speeches and debates and 'My name is So-and-so, and I approved this message'?

Here in Canada? THIRTY-SEVEN days of campaigning. THIRTY-SEVEN.
The election is today.

Does that mean as a nation we're scatter-brained and jumping at the gun?

Or....does it mean we've got this election fal-de-rol worked out?

Oh, I am so incredibly TIRED of the political ads and mudslinging, I can't even tell you.

I want to set fire to ALL the stupid McCain/Palin AND Obama/Biden signs, plus the Smith for Mayor signs I see all over the place. I could have a big ole bonfire right in my front yard. It'd be great! :)

It means you all are so much smarter than us - it really makes me want to cry.

My sons and I voted, hope you and yours did too! Out with the bum sniffer!

We've had campaigning going on for nearly two years. I think the limit should be one year, max.

That sounds so nice! I really hate that it goes on and on forever here. Forty days is enough! Ours has gotten really ugly. I can't wait for it to be over.

I am just about ready to kill the next pollster I hear about. I mean really. I just want it to be over already.

Thirty seven days. I am so jealous.

If we could just boil the pot of bs down a little further and get to the real meat.

Less, in this case, I think, IS more!

Oh I am so underwhelmed by all of it. But I voted. The best I could. I voted.

I like Canada's way too!

Sounds like the sensible way to do it! We're so jaded from all the blathering---with another this week! And the amount of money wasted on all this campaigning is obscene. Think of all the good that could be accomplished with those kinds of bucks! Oh, just let it be over already!

Good for Canada. And even better, we in Scotland haven't had to listen to your election news for a year either. I know as much about Sarah Palin and Barack Obama as they know about themselves, but I'm considerably less interested.

I could not survive the drawn out US campaign process. It was too much living thru 37 days of Stephen Harper in sweater vests, shaking hands and kissing babies:)

The let down from all this campaigning is going to be brutal.

I would LOVE only 37 days of advertising, you're lucky!

It sounds good to me!

I'm so tired of polling calls waking the baby / annoying me!
